A Sign Of Things To Come???

Victory against your closest challengers, especially at this very early stage of the season is something that you welcome. It sets the tone and gives you a psychological advantage to mount your assault for the start of the coming season. As a Manchester United fan, I’m salivating at the thought of the season ahead, moreso now that we have an extremely exciting depth of youth and experience playing with pace and flair.

However, I’m sad that one of my favourite players have left. He might not be a great goalscorer but he was a scorer of great goals. Where he lacks in finishing, he makes up for it by playing with heart, determination and a never-say-die attitude. His ferocious tackling and willing to die for the team’s cause have endeared him to many. And so with a heavy heart, I bid farewell to Alan Smith. Thank you for your kind service to the club. The United fans will never forget a player like you and will always welcome you back to Old Trafford with a warm reception.

Now that Smith has vacated his number 14 jersey, who is next in line to wear it??? It is no secret that United will officially unveil Carlos Tevez this week as their fourth signing of the season, but he is likely to wear number 8 or 12.
