Keeping Our Part Of The Bargain…

Ever since Manchester United beat those fools from Merseyside 3-0 on 23rd March 2008, and hear them whine non-stop about how unfair it was to send off their big-mouthed Argy, we’ve been hearing cries of “See you in Moscow” from both sets of fans. United survived their tensed semi-final encounters with Barcelona over the past week and now we’re on our way to the UEFA Champions League Final in Moscow on 21st May 2008. Yes, the football might not be pretty and did not reflect the ethos eschewed by this club over the past two games with the Spanish matadors, but hell it was a disciplined performance, which is reminiscent of that team that whines too often or even our conquerors over the past weekend. One moment of brilliance was all it took and it was a befitting winner and contender for goal of the season if there ever was one.

Given a choice, football fans all over the world would rather see Manchester United and Liverpool play out the Final as they know both sides will go all out with firing cylinders and go at each other’s throats from the first whistle. Manchester United, for all their apparent failings and misgivings over the past 3 weeks, are now smelling blood and three games away from that Double that they crave for. We have kept our part of the bargain to the fans of crimson Merseyside. Tonight, the gauntlet is on them to live up to their promise. But as United would admit, Stamford Bridge is not an easy place to play. We found that out last Saturday and over the past few seasons. So can our bitterest enemy keep their part of the bargain tonight???
