Bored & Peeved…

5 days into my MC and exactly a week after I got hit with the HFMD virus, the spots are slowly disappearing and the affected skin is peeling off nicely. Feels as though I’m a snake… I’m feeling extremely bored, which explains why I’m blogging so soon after I posted my last entry… What have I done of late???

  1. Blogging (Obviously!!!)
  2. Read the newspapers
  3. Read “Inside United” magazine (that’s Manchester Uniteds official magazine for the uninitiated)
  4. Surfed the Net for news and views in the football world and Nusantara music scene
  5. Blog-hopped
  6. Play my “Winning Eleven” game on Playstation 2
  7. Watched “Bachelor Party 2
  8. Watched “American Pie: Beta House
  9. Watched “B-13
  10. Watched “Superhero Movie
  11. Watched “Harold & Kumar: Escape From Guantanamo Bay
  12. Watched “El Classico” (that’s Real Madrid vs Barcelona for the uninitiated)
  13. Playing around with a new toy I bought prior to my illness
  14. Going to the beach for some skin therapy (no one was around thankfully…)
  15. Update my Ipod with latest hits on the airwaves

What can I expect to do in the next 5 days???

  1. Resume cleaning the house after a week’s break
  2. Go shopping with the wife to buy gifts for a birthday boy and girl, newborns and our mums
  3. Watch more DVDs
  4. Read the newspapers
  5. Read the latest issue of First Magazine
  6. Watch Wigan Athletic vs Manchester United (hopefully we’ll lift the Premiership this Sunday)
  7. Catch up on lost quality time with my angels

Don’t you just hate it when your contacts give others your phone number without first seeking your permission in the name of business referrals??? I’m hopping mad at whoever that gave my wife’s contact number to this makeover company called “Anne’s Image Consultants” or whatever it is called. This person who called us from this company could not even give a specific name as to who was the bloody culprit. Not only that, she was quite adamant on us taking up whatever dumb offers they had in store.

Even if you are pressed into having to give numbers away, just give them hoax numbers or tell these business people off that you need to seek permission first. Me and the wife did just that with our insurance agent when she pressed us for referrals there and then. Sometimes you have to be firm and protect the trust that your contacts have on you with their numbers. I am fiercely protective of the numbers in my contact list and I am appalled whenever I hear people giving away numbers freely. Yes, and that includes those dumb student intern reporters who pass around the numbers of artistes that they just interviewed. Professional my ass!!!

Please have the decency, the courtesy and the respect of the people whose number you want to give away and inform them that you would like to put their names and contact numbers down for referral. A person’s contact number is his / her own privacy. If you want to give it to someone else, seek the permission of the owner first. This is called “Amanah“, a simple responsibility that you will have to answer in the Hereafter. I know some people take for granted and give away numbers as freely as giving away secrets. Please change your goddamn bloody attitude and start being responsible for once!!!
